The company that I am doing is ConjuChem Biotechnologies. After looking at the company organizational structure at http://www.theofficialboard.com/org-chart/conjuchem-biotechnologies and comparing it to the 10 diagrams in the PowerPoint that Mr Opfer sent to us, I believe that this company is a centralized or entrepreneurial company.
The ‘center’ of this company consists of 5 directors, 1 CEO and 1 Chairman. This means that this company is centralized as these 7 people have a lot of responsibility and authority. This team of 7 people makes the vast majority of the decisions and is in charge of bureaucracy. They delegate jobs to the heads of the 4 departments (the CFO, the head of Research and Development, the head Secretary and the head of the Legal department). However, the CEO is directly their superior, so he commands them all and has a high span of control. Not only that, but he also has a high level of accountability. If some goes wrong, he will have the bulk of the blame for making the wrong decision.
This company is a flat company, with an assumed number of 3 levels of hierarchy (the website only shows 2 levels, but I highly doubt that the head of the departments do much of the work). This means that there is a high level of empowerment as there aren’t many managers to direct the employees.
